What Makes an Infrared Sauna Different?

Unlike traditional steam or dry saunas that heat the air around you, infrared saunas use radiant heat to gently warm the body at lower temperatures. As a result, the experience is typically more comfortable and less intensely hot than a conventional sauna while still promoting relaxation and overall wellness.

Many guests are surprised that infrared saunas do not feel as hot as traditional saunas. This is normal and part of their design. Infrared sauna sessions are often chosen for relaxation, stress reduction, muscle recovery, circulation support, and overall well-being rather than for extreme heat exposure.

Our infrared sauna also includes LED light therapy, creating a wellness experience that goes beyond a traditional sauna session.

What to Expect

    Before Your Session

Hydration is important. Please drink plenty of water before and after your session. For optimal comfort, consider drinking an electrolyte beverage before or after your treatment.

Infrared saunas operate differently than traditional steam or dry saunas. Because they use radiant heat and lower ambient temperatures, the experience is generally gentler and more comfortable than a conventional sauna. Some guests perspire heavily, while others experience a more gradual warming effect.

    What to Wear

Lightweight, comfortable clothing such as athletic wear, shorts, a tank top, or a swimsuit is recommended. We also provide an esthetician gown for your comfort during the session.

    After Your Session

Following your session, take a few moments in our relaxation area to relax and rehydrate. Many guests report feeling relaxed, refreshed, and energized after treatment. Continue drinking water throughout the day to stay hydrated.

Please note that shower facilities are not available on-site.

    Chromotherapy

Our far infrared sauna has the added benefits of chromotherapy. Chromotherapy or light therapy is the science of using colors to adjust body vibrations to frequencies that result in health and harmony. Each color possesses frequencies of a specific vibration, and each vibration is related to different physical symptoms.

    • RED
Believed to increase the pulse, raise blood pressure and increase the rate of breathing. Red would be applied to support circulatory and nervous functions. Red light can heal wounds, relieve pain and inflammation and has anti-aging benefits.
    • GREEN
Provides anti-inflammatory benefits. It is calming and helps to reduce capillary sizes and minimize the appearance of redness in the skin.
    • BLUE
Promotes relaxation and calm. Blue exhibits tranquilizing qualities often used to relieve headaches and migraines, colds, stress, nervous tension, rheumatism, stomach pains, muscle cramps and liver disorders. Blue can also improve sun damage.

You can enjoy the sauna as a single service or it’s great to add on before a massage or a body wrap!
